Before starting Serif Health, Rafiq worked as a consultant at Bain & Company where he advised on investments in healthcare IT and clinical software, health plans, and physician groups. He has held leadership roles in finance, strategy, and operations at startups and nonprofits, serving as a General Manager at HotelTonight (acquired by Airbnb).

At HotelTonight, Rafiq spent much of his time focused on pricing strategy and analytics for hotel partners and is passionate about applying the principles of price transparency to healthcare contracting.

Rafiq obtained his BA in Political Science at Yale University and his MBA from Harvard Business School, graduating with high distinction as a Baker Scholar.
